ROBERT P. “Bob” MEISTER, JR. Naples, Florida Bmeister@Pc2-inc.com
BACKGROUND: Bob Meister is a native of New York State. He attended Kansas State University where he received an Associate Degree in Business Administration. After college he joined the family business, Meister Contracting Company, Dunkirk, NY. The company had been formed by Bob’s grandfather after immigrating to the United States. Bob began as a foreman in 1962 and stayed to become CEO. In 1983 he closed that company, moved his family to Florida, and formed Gulf Coast Construction, Inc. He still serves as President / CEO of that company; however, his sons manage its daily operation. Bob and his wife continue to live in Naples, FL, where they spend time aboard their trawler. EXPERIENCE: Bob comes from a strong business background, learning the construction part of the business from his father and grandfather. The family business was geared more toward industrial and heavy civil type work, while the new family business in Florida is more centered on commercial and development work. Bob’s experience is an interesting blend of New York organized labor type work to open shop Florida style construction. Being the glue that keeps a family business intact for four generations is quite an experience in itself. Bob joined Professional Construction Consulting, Inc. in 2002. QUALIFICATIONS: Over forty years of experience in such varied facets of construction has give Bob a “hard to fool” eye for construction. He also serves on the Naples Planning and Advisory Board, Collier County Contractor’s Licensing Board, the Collier County Sheriff’s Commission, and is President of Naples Wilderness Program. His community service and construction industry association involvement exemplify his leadership and management abilities. His unique background and experience result in a “no nonsense” approach to construction problem solving.
